Hamrick Travel Grant for Political Papers Research

The William G. Hamrick Travel Grant for Political Papers Research program was made possible by the generosity of an endowment created in 2015 by Judge Bill Hamrick to support activities, projects, and programs which increase public discovery and use of the political holdings housed in Ingram Library’s Special Collections. One of the programs includes travel grants for visiting scholars. 

The Hamrick Travel Grant for Political Papers Research is offered annually, by the fiscal calendar, on a rolling basis. Researchers may contact the Head of Special Collections at special@xlhl.net to inquire about the availability of funding for the fiscal year of their expected research visit.

Awards are made immediately before the successful applicant’s research visit. If the research visit does not occur, the funds must be returned.

Those who are engaged in undergraduate, graduate-level, postdoctoral, or independent research are invited to apply. Awards will be made based on funding availability and the strength of the application including statement of need.

If funding is available, then applications may be submitted by email to special@xlhl.net. 

Applicants must provide the following information as part of their application:

• Brief biography (1-3 paragraphs)
• Project summary to include a description of their research project, expected outcome/product of their research endeavor, and references to specific archival collections at 博彩平台推荐 that are relevant to their project

• A brief statement of financial need
